Cisco Multicast Monitor (CMM)

Unanswered Question

Hi, does anyone have first hand experience with Cisco Multicast Monitor?

I'm interested to know if it will show you some type of network map, if it actively monitors multicast health and diplay this (by turning router/switch icons RED, for example).

My guess id that it has good tools for troubleshooting? ..but does it also give you a clear health view that a helpdesk could monitor?

I have this problem too.

IIRC, CMM's user interface is web browser-based without much in the way of dynamically self-updating content. It's graphing engine is based on RRDTool. I don't recall it auto-refreshes, so I doubt it'd actively change icon colors as status changes. I don't think it's meant for real-time monitoring, unless someone sits there actively point-n-clicking all day. You can get a pretty good idea here:

I felt HP's IP Multicast SPI for NNM was the most powerful, but also the most awkward to manage.
