LMS 3.0 - DFM device in Questioned state.

Hi all,

I'm working with Ciscoworks LMS 3.0 (in ACS mode), with DFM 3.0.1

Of all my network equipment (55 devices), one will not work with DFM:

I have one Catalyst 2950-24 switch (software 12.1(22)EA2) which stays on status "Questioned" in DFM.

The rest of the devices (ranging from Aironet 1200's to 6509's) are all "known"

I can't figure out how and why this happens. In the Device Center, I can perfectly do an "snmp walk" to the device, and the credentials report says that SNMP read and Telnet Primary are ok. (an authenticatd telnet primary session goes directly into enable mode)

When I start rediscovery for the device, the status view says "Learning" and after a while goes back to "Questioned".

The status screen in "Rediscover/Delete devices" says:

** Data collector status information **

Error code = snmp timeout

error message = N/A

What could be wrong? The device works perfectly in CM (discovery and collection) and RME (collection and archiving)

Anyone has a clue about how to solve this?

Without seeing the configuration from this device, I cannot say for certain. But, you could delete the device from DFM, start a sniffer trace filtering on all traffic between the server and this device, then re-add it, and see if the SNMP timeout is caused by an obvious problem.
