Changing from desktop monitoring to SPAN port monitoring

Unanswered Question
Sep 13th, 2007

Hi!

I have a problem with recording calls on IPCC 4.5 with two configured NICs, so it was decided to switch it to SPAN port monitoring. Could someone please help me out how this is done? Except configuring SPAN port on the switch, where do I have to tell IPCC to change the mode of monitoring? Phones are 7940s.

In this way of monitoring, is it possible to have the phones stuck into the switch rather than the PC port on the phone?

regards and thanks,

Goran

I have this problem too.

Hi Goran,

1. Keep the same SPAN configuration.

2. Disable desktop monitoring in desktop administrator.

3. run postinstall.exe and make sure correct voip nic is selected.

Hope this helps,

Vlaho

Hi all,

When using the 'Desktop Monitoring' feature, I read that I don't need to configure SPAN port.

But do I need to configure the VoIP Monitor NIC on the CRS server through PostInstall.exe?

Do I need to configure VoIP Monitor NIC only when using SPAN port?

When I have some agents in a remote site can I use Desktop Monitoring scenario or must I use an expansion server connected to a SPAN port? (I'm using UCCX 5.0 with CUCM 6)
