6509 CatOS Channel Hashing

Hi,

I'm seeing some weirdness on a two port channel with a mode of "on". The channel protocol on the blade is set to LACP and it's a 48port copper blade. From what I see on my graphs, traffic coming from the server is load balanced well I think because the server is doing IP load balancing. Traffic going from the network to the server all goes over one gig link and does not use the second. Does anyone know the default hashing a 6500 running CatOS 7.6.5 uses? Are there options to change it like on IOS switches? I've looked all over and can't find anything.

Hi

I believe the default is ip address but you can check this on your switch

You look under the "Oper-distribution Method"

column.

You can change it with

set port channel all distribution ...

Thanks Jon,

Great document. I looked all over and did not find that. I think my problem is a NetApp issue but how does a layer two switch see the IP or session information on a channel?
