Cisco 2820 Hardware Configuration

Unanswered Question
Sep 13th, 2007

Hi,

I have 2 Cisco 2821's. Each have 2 VWIC-2MFT-T1-D1 Dual T1 cards in them. I am trying to install a single interface HWIC-1FE card as a management interface. The cards light up but are not seen by the router. Is this configuration supported by this router. I currently have 3 T1's per router and want to be able to install a 4th in the future. Please let me know if I left anything out needed to answer my question. IOS is Version 12.4(13b), RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3).

Thanks,

I have this problem too.

Mike , based on this doc the HWIC-1FE is not supported on the 2820 platforms.

[EDIT]

Sorry, I take previous note back.. you have 2821.. you seem have have minimun IOS requirements and one available slot for your the card, it could be your running IOS version.

Mike,

Go to software advisory and pick "find software compatible with your hardware"

HWIC-1FE is not found for use in any of the 4 slots of the 2821, but the link I posted previously is listed as a supported hardware on the 2821, I would advice you to open a TAC case to be certain.
