You don't get new certificates for simply re-certifying, the original certificate still applies

Dear Paul

Thank you for replying my email.

However, the original certificate has an expiry date on it!!!

Hi Kelvin,

While waiting for Matthew to reply your answer. Pls allow me to ask one question.

I passed my CCNP 25th Oct 2004, and need to recertify in 25th Oct 2007. Referring to the statement below in, Can i just proceed to take 642-812 ( BCMSN ) to fulfil the recertification requirement ?

"Pass any 642 exam that is part of the professional level curriculum after 01/01/06"

Does the date 01/01/06 anything to do with the passing date of the expiring certficate ?

Hi, thong

Yes, passing 642-812 exam before 25th Oct will recertify your CCNP because:

1. your CCNP has not been expired before that day.

2. 642-812 is one of the professional level curriculum

The date 01/01/06 has nothing to do with certificate expiration; It is just about the validation of this new policy.

Hi Kelvin,

Thank you for your confirmation. It is relief for me.

Actually there is information on the internet ( non-Cisco ) which is misleading.

Best regards
