Cisco ASA and Policy Based Routing

Does anyone know if policy based routing will be supported in the near future on the ASA. I have a client with two isp's and we have them setup for backup. However they really want to be able to use both lines actively but creating route maps for say http and smtp.

I find it strange that products like sonicwall etc have this facility and the ASA is a superior product but does not.

If there is another way to acheive this could someone let me know

policy based routing is not supported on the ASA

You can insert a cisco router in front of the ASA.

Hi

Thanks I am aware I can do that but I really want to be able to do this on the ASA. I just cannot understand why this is not supported as much of the route-map commands are in the ASA and the whole backup isp solution is pretty basic compared with other firewalls

If its that important to you then contact your account team and have them look at the ASA's road map and/or contact the product manager.

Hi

That is a very sensible idea and I will do that. I have got round the problem for now.
