spanning VLANs across L3 with 6500s

Can anyone tell me the options that are available in the 6500/sup720 for bridging vlans across layer 3 links. I have two 6500s connected across a L3 backbone and need to span a VLAN across.

I know MPLS is one options but what are some of the other perhaps simpler options?

GRE tunnel

L2TPv3 (not sure if it's supported in the 6500)

Any insights would be helpful.....

Unfortunately, there are not many options with the 6500 platform. EoMPLS is the only one supported on the 6500, but the feature has many restrictions and requirements.

Thanks for the reply. I am finding the same thing.

I did look at the feature navigator and it indicates that the SUP720 supports L2TPv3 with advanced IP version 12.2.33SHX.

However, I was told by Cisco that that is miss-leading and that you also need the 7600-SIP module as well for L2TPv3.
