hi guys

here is my senario

lan1<-->switch 2960<-->switch 3550<--> switch 2950<-->LAN2

i want my 2950 switch , monitor an interface of my 2960 switch..

note : that my uplink to each swtich is trunk with 802.1q

Unfortunately the 2950 does not support the RSPAN VLAN unless you have the enhanced software. The RSPAN VLAN is a special type of VLAN in which MAC address learning is disabled. Without it, the source addresses you are monitoring would stay on the monitored side of the switch and never find their way to the monitor port.

It looks like you will have to put your monitor port on the 3550 if you can.
