Adding or removing WIC/VWIC

Greetings,

This should be a quick question.

Can I remove a VWIC and replace it with a WIC without having to power down the router?

No, you must power it down. Even larger routers like 3800 or 3660s that support hotswapping of NMs require a power down for VWICs and WICs.
