ISL & 802.1Q Configuratoin

All of our switches in our network are Cisco ISL Trunks. I recently purchased a WS-C2960-8TC switch and just realized it only supports DOT1q.

This trunk port connects to a 3508G, which has other ISL trunks to other facilities/switches on separate VLANS.

My question is, if I configure this single link as 802.1q and the rest remain ISL, will traffic get forwarded? Ideally, I would like to stay consistant and perhaps change the entire network to 802.1q, but right now, that is not an option.

Thanks.

There should be no problem using ISL one one trunk and dot1q on another. The encapsulation protocol is significant only on each individual link.
