I have few 6509 router, some cat 5000 switches and pix in my LAN setup. Which NM software do i need to monitor? I am new to NM...

http://www.cacti.net with the thold and monitor plugin would be a good start.
download what's up gold and try that.

What do you mean by manage? There are many aspects of management such as Configuration, Fault, Security, Performance, Authorization etc...
No one tool will do it all.
What kind of management are you looking for?
