I am pinging from a gw on the same subnet and am seeing 1 in every 6 packets being dropped. Eg
#p ip
Target IP address: 192.168.19.251
Repeat count [5]: 200
Datagram size [100]:
Timeout in seconds [2]:
Extended commands [n]:
Sweep range of sizes [n]:
Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 200, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 192.168.19.251, timeout is 2 seconds:
!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!
!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!
!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!
Success rate is 83 percent (167/200), round-trip min/avg/max = 1/1/4 ms
Is this a DoS protection like you see to a phone? Can't find any docs anywhere

Did you every figure this out. I have the same thing on CM 5.1 or does anyone have any idea whether this is normal or not?

well being that this is normal behaviour for most cisco phones these days for denial of service I am going to chalk it up to normal.
