Transfer to VM transcode external Calls

We are having an issue with a new site for a customer. Inter Region calls are set for g711ulaw...if a call is made to the phone and not answered this rolls to vm fine...the vm is in a region that talks g729 to remote office. Calls coming in from the outside are set to be g711ulaw and are answered fine but if they roll to vm the call is disconnected. I created a transcoding dsp farm for calls that come into the branch and are transfered to another branch..(g711ulaw to g729)..this works..but the Ring NA to Unity does not..

Can someone give me an idea of what is going on here...

Hi Joe,

Which type of Gateway?

Is it an H323 GW? Is it hardocode to use G711 codec or MTP?

Which region is the GW and which region is the VM ports?

It is a 2801, h323 gw, the dial-peers are set to g711. The gw is a different region than the voicemail ports. They are set to use g729.
