i want to bye some pix 515 but i have choice pix 515 vs asa 5505. What is a difference in perfomance and connection. I read data sheets but i still have some question. Asa 5505 have easy price and cisco best support and PR then pix 515. What is the best if money no problem?
The ASA w/ licensing is less expensive! The ASA has larger and expandable flash. The 5505 has limited functionality. So the 5510/5520 is good for SMB. However, the Pix 515E is faster throughput than 5510. It is NOT faster than the 5520. Currently both run the same SW. So the ASA 5510/5520 is a good recommendation. Put simple Cisco puts the ASA as the firewall for the future!
