frame-realy traffic shapping

Hello.

I though traffic shapping was only "out" of the interface.

In that case why the Cisco Ios is actually giving us the possibility of configuring it as "in" AND "out" under the interface configuration ?

R1(config-map-class)#frame-relay cir ?

Hi,

As a router can also be used as a frame-relay switch, it makes sense to have inbound shaping capabilities.

Router(config)#frame-relay switching

The local or remote switching capabilities are configured with "frame-relay route ..." or "xconnect ..." commands.
