hi,
Can you create a port chennel between a Cat6506 running CatOS and a C3560G running IOS ?.
This is a continuation of yesterday's problem trying to trunk and channel between the 2 Cat6506's

Yes you should be able to do this. Are you saying that you have tried and it does not work.
Attached is a link to configuring etherchannel between a CatOS and IOS switch.

Hi
We are getting an error message on the 3560 that ports 49 and 50 are incompatiable
The configs match the example with the exception that we have a switchport encapsulation statement on the 3560's

You are not having a lot of luck with etherchannel are you :(
Could you check your configurations against the guidelines/restrictions in the attached document
If this doesn't bring up anything can you post config for 6500 and 3560 switch as regards the etherchannel setup. Also which module are the ports on the 6500 on.
Edit - could you also post CatOS and IOS software versions.

Hi All,
I have got this sorted now thanks, being a bit of an idiot I was trying to channel with one port going to one device and the other port to a differant device !!!.
I reckon I stand a good chance for numpty of the month :-)
