unable to add a 3750G-24T in a existing stack

when i tried to add a 3750 in an existing stack i've got 2 stack.

what should be the state of stackwise port reported by the cmde sh switch stack-port

the cmde report some down port on my stack

In a working state the ports should be up. It is worth checking that the new switch is provisioned within the config of the stack, and that they are all running the same SDM template, and have the compatible IOS versions. I would expect to see warnings about version mismatch and SDM template mismatch within the output of a show switch command.

thanks for answering , the version is the same on all switch (12.2.40 ipservices)

Post a show version" and a "show switch detail" . Looks like a problem with at least 2 of your switches are not working . Usually a version mismatch or something like that .

1. Is the problem only between stack members 1 and 2?

2. (banality) Have you tried different stack cable?

3. I've seen this problem before, when the loop was not able to close, and one stack connection was always going down. But I think it was a hardware issue.

There is a requirement for switches to have the same SDM template, but with different SDM you wouldn't even be able to create a stack.

I'd try to disconnect member 3 and see if stack between 1 and 2 comes up.

How is the stack wired ? Normally it should go from port 1 on the first switch to port 2 on the 2nd switch and port 1 on the 2nd switch to port 2 on the third switch and port 1 on the 3rd switch should go up to port 2 on the first switch .
