Dear all,
I have CCM (v5.1.2 installation without DNS) and cisco 2811 (with ISDN PRI E1 trunk to PSTN) as a H323 GW, but 2811 doesn't seem to register with CCM.
In CCM I've configured router as H.323 type GW in the following way:
IP address/Device Name 10.0.9.10
Device Pool default
Call classification offNet
Location my_location
...the rest of parameters are default
The following is my 2811 config:

service timestamps debug datetime msec
service timestamps log datetime msec

When I type show gateway, I get the following output
ISDN_GW#show gateway
H.323 ITU-T Version: 4.0 H323 Stack Version: 0.1
H.323 service is up
Gateway ISDN_GW is not registered to any gatekeeper
Alias list (CLI configured)
H323-ID ISDN_GW
Alias list (last RCF) is empty
H323 resource thresholding is Disabled
Does Cisco CallManager can act as an H.323 gatekeeper? If yes, how CCM should have to be configured for that purpose?
Can somebody point me out where I'm wrong?

Actually H323 GW dont register to CCM.
They act as peer to peer.
MGCP do register.
CCM cannot act as a GK.
We use Locations as a CAC mechanism.

Hi Zoran,
Dont worry about domains, you just add in CCM under Device H323 GWs.
And in the GW add dial-peers.
Please let me know what exactly you are trying to do.

Dear gogasca!
Thanks for quick reply. Can you point me out how can I check out is everything ok with my config? Some debug command?
Also, I don't understand how to define H323 IDs of CCM and 2811 in no DNS service environment? The format of ID is email format, but I'm confused what would be my domain part since we have no defined domain?
TIA

Hi
It's clear now! Thank you!
Obviously, I was pretty new to H.323 GWs and CCM. I was confused mainly by unknown status of H323 GW in CCM.
Now after your posts and few PDF books, I understand much better the relationship between CCM and H323 GW.
Also, I've realized that I don't need Gatekeeper nor DNS. My Fa0/0 is now configured this way:
!
!
interface FastEthernet0/0
ip address 10.0.9.10 255.255.255.224
duplex auto
speed auto
h323-gateway voip interface
h323-gateway voip bind srcaddr 10.0.9.10
!
!
My problem is probably in dial-peers, but I'll start the new thread as soon as I formulate a question.

Are you experiencing a failure? I've never seen a H323 GW register to CCM. CCM doesn't act as a gatekeeper. An H323 GW doesn't need to "register" to CCM in the same way a MGCP GW does in order to work correctly. Hope that helps.
