CME 4, night service and transferring

I have night service set up for the main line coming in. The bell rings and the users can pickup up the call with the gPickup softkey. No problem. However, if they want to transfer the call it's blind. I can't figure out how to transfer with consult. Also, when they've picked up one of these night service calls they can put the call on hold but they can't open a new call. The button simply does nothing. Any ideas? I've tried the following in telephony-service:

transfer-system full-consult dss

transfer-pattern 9.T

Is the pattern causing a problem? Do I need to somehow dedicate DSP resources to this? Is it even possible?
