hi,

i know how to configure a routed port on a 3560/3750

interface gigabit x/x/x

no switchport

ip x.x.x.x x.x.x.x

no shut

but which command i need, to configure a routed port on a catalyst 4006?

it is equipped with supervisor I and 2 modules, 34 and 48 ports.

modules use cat os, supervisor use ios.

(please note, i wish to have a routed port, not a port in a vlan with an ip address)

thanks in advance for help

In this way , basically your module in slot 3 WS-X4232-L3 is a router and if you want to do intervlan routing , that is the card you will need to configure. On the supervisor itself , you can neither create an SVI or a routed port.

Here is a sample config for doing routing via WS-X4232-L3 module.

Thanks

CatOS based supervisor ( ws-x4013 ) on a 4006 switch is a L2 supervisor which means it does not support routed ports.

You need sup2+ ( ws-x4013+ ) at the minimum to enable routing on a 4006 switch.

Thanks

it is equipped this way:

Mod Port Model Serial # Versions

--- ---- ------------------ -------------------- ---------------------------------

1 2 WS-X4013 XXXXXXXXXXX Hw : 3.2

Gsp: 7.6(4.0)

Nmp: 7.6(4)

2 6 WS-X4306 XXXXXXXXXXX Hw : 2.0

3 34 WS-X4232-L3 XXXXXXXXXXX Hw : 1.7

4 48 WS-X4148-RJ XXXXXXXXXXX Hw : 3.0

so, i think i'll need to create a vlan and give an ip to it, right?
