Unity 5.x Prefix digits

Hi guys,

we have a CCM cluster where we have phones set up in zones - so 1 site will have 9 digit extension with the 1st 4 digits as zone identifiers - the users are not aware of the 1st 4 digit zone code, they only know the 5 digit extensions.

In Unity we setup subscribers with the unique number, all nine digits, and on site it works ok. However when users dial in externally (off site) they do not know their full nine digits - only the last 5, will the prefix digits feature in Unity 5.x work for us here?(I've got a inkling that it won't as it only works for CH's and subscribers). In the meantime we have set their mobiles as alternate extensions so as long as they dial in using their mobiles they are ok - its just the odd occasion when they call Unity externally from another unknown phone. Any ideas or experience's of the same would be appreciated...tia, Jeff.

The prefix digits feature is used only when the caller dials an extension from a greeting being played for a call handler or subscriber - in other words the PHGreeting conversation will tack on the digits the user dials to find an object in the database when "free dialing" during a greeting. Each handler/subscriber can be setup with different prefixes for handling complex dial plans and the like.

The prefix functionality does not apply to the subscriber sign in conversation - there is only one sign in conversation and, as such, applying different prefixes wouldn't work here.

ok, thanks for confirming that.
