We've ordered a 2811 with a WIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 for an office in Chile. The LEC has indicated that they will have a G.703/RJ45 120 ohm handoff for the E1 they are delivering. Will this WIC work with this handoff. I hesitate because I was expecting RJ48.

I dont think so, there is a seperate VWIC for G.703. See here:

Sorry, I typo'd the VWIC. It's VWIC2-2MFT-E1/T1.

Will do fine. The only thing, won't do full 2,048 if your circuit is provisioned that way, but 31 TS maximum, that is 64 bps less.
Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

Can ISP be possibly wrong?
RJ45 is very similar to RJ48 to a naked eye, and the rest of the specifications match. Try to contact them, and see if they are not accidentally calling RJ48 as RJ45
