Can you try no snmp-server enable traps snmp linkup linkdown?

Also, you may not have snmp server traps slb on your device in that code.

I can?t write snmp-server enable traps snmp linkup linkdown. The invalid input message is the answer from the router.

Now please send the output of

snmp-server enable traps snmp ?

also, notice above that you do in fact have the option for slb traps. If you tried to disable them and it did not work, then they were not enabled.

Is you cat6k running in hybrid mode? so you have both, IOS for the routing engine and CatOS for the switch?

If it is (as I assume) you should login to the switch (CatOs) to control link up/down messages.

this is the command on CatOS to control traps and syslogs for link up/down messages.

set port trap enable

set port trap disable

Looks like this is IOS, not CatOS.....but he should still be able to do this both globally and per interface/port basis

What's the lowest IOS code level that has per-interface linkUp/Down trap control?
