I'm upgrading a Cisco 837 to a 877 for our remote VPN. I've heard this router would be better for through put as it's specs are much better. I'm going to order it, but will the configs be similar?

Yes. Don't bet that it will improve perceived performances, however.

Well I hope it will, I've been told the 83x series routers are low budget, we have a site to site VPN using one and the cpu can hit 95% quite easily, apparenty due to the 837 not being able to handle the encryption. Plus they can only handle 2-3mb ADSL lines. I've ordered a 877 and 1841 with an ADSL card to do some tests. Apparently they can handle much more through put.

Let us know how it goes!

Only if goes well or my anger will be shown to the routers ;)
