Multicast routing through 4507, 6509, FWSM

Hello...we are trying to enable mulitcast routing from our Internal 4507 core. Currently, we are able to view a multicast stream from our ISP thru our 6509 which has a FWSM. The internal 4507 is connected to the 6509 over an ether-channel, which gateways to the "inside" interface of the FWSM. Multicast routing is working internally (between VLANs)on the 4507, but we are not able to view the stream through our ISP (like we are on our 6509 VLANs). Our 6509 is running in Hybrid mode, our 4507 is running straight IOS. Is there something about the ether-channel that is causing us the problem perhaps? Any help, documentation would be much appreciated.

Hi

Could you clarify a few things.

1) The FWSM is between the ISP and the 4500 ? If so is it running in transparent mode or routed mode and if routed mode is it participating in multicast routing or not ?

2) The multicast stream from your ISP. Have you checked the ttl setting on the multicast stream ?

3) The etherchannel between the 6500 and the 4500 - L2 or L3 ?

I'm not aware of any inherent problems with multicast and etherchannel as the etherchannel link is just seen as one logical link.
