Hi,
I'm looking for the name of a feature or features that will do the following:
1) that will make a route come out of the routing table if a distant non-connected route falls out of the routing table...
2) make a route stop being advertised if a distant network is not reachable via pings.
Thanks!!

Hi Lisa,
The short answer to your question is using dynamic routing protocols, look into OSPF,EIGRP,RIPv2,IS-IS,BGP.. all cisco routers have dynamic routing feature as part of their role.
