Hi

DHCPDiscover is a broadcast message.

When we setting lease to a week, example:

init: 09/18/2007

end: 09/25/2007

In the 09/23/07, the host client would send a DHCPDiscover (broadcast message)? Or the information of end lease is in the host client too?

Hi Friend,

DHCP enabled host also obtain end lease information in DHCP message. When lease is about to expire client sends a DHCP request message and not a Discovery message to renew the lease.
