I would to use RMON to monitor and report on CRC errors for a serial interface and I am struggling to find useful help with the matter.

Also I would like to monitor ipsec over tunnel interfacces so that I can be warned if the tunnels stop being encrypted, not sure if RMON is the right tool.

You can create RMON thresholds to monitor CRC Mib Counter and once it hits the threshold, it can send an alert. The only thing that is available is RMON Alert and Traps which use thresholds/mib counters. Once the threshold has been exceeded, you

can the Cisco device send a trap to your chosen destination

Hi

Thanks for the reply, I was after some idea on how to capture the information and use it, it is the MIB values that I struggling with, it is proving difficult to tie down the right mib values to use, can you help with that aspect?

Thanks for the thoughts Bob.
