Power Supply replacement Cat6500 with CatOS

Unanswered Question

Hi, the PS2-1300Watt AC of my Cat6500 (the old chassis version hardware ver3.0, it is not the E) is out. We buy another one, but this one has 4000Watt.

The CatOS version is 6.3(3). And supervisors 2.

We are running over non-redundant power configuration.

We replace the PS2, but show sys command shows:

PS1 Capacity: 1153.32 Watt

PS2 Capacity: 0 Watt

PS1-Type: WS-CAC-1300W

PS2-Type: other

But, the show ver shows:

PS1 Module: WS-CAC-1300W

PS2 Module: WS-CAC-3000W

We dont understand if we have a problem with the chassis, the CatOS version, and what will happend if we remove the PS1, and if we switch to redundant... because the redundant configuration could shutdown the PS1 to switch to the PS2 because it has higher power wattage...

Any help would be appreciated

I have this problem too.

The WS-CAC-3000W power supply requires 7.5(1) as a minimum release to run.
