I have a question about the logistic of the CNCP re-cert. My expiration date is coming up and I want to know if I can take the 842-811 test to re-cert. here are some bullet points i'm trying to make:
- I think I'ce took the composite exam to get my CCNP before and I notice now that the CCNP trak no longer use the 842-811 but instead it use the 842-812.
- I've pretty sure I can pass the 842-811, but the 842-812 will require me to hit the books a little.
- I also notice that VUE still offer the 842-811 test.
- I think I saw somewhere on the cisco training site that they are expiring the 842-811 exams.
OK we have gone full circle with this one, can I currently take the 842-811 exms and be able to re-cert my CCNP? any help will be great.
642-811 has retired since 12/31/2006. I don't think you can pass a retired exam to recertify your CCNP.
The current exam available is 642-812:
Checking the exam topic, I discover that the only new topic added on the new exam is WLAN. All the other topics are the same. So, if you are confident with the old exam, then you will probably have no problem to pass the new exam.
