LMS 2.6 Syslog Storage Duration

What determines the length of time that syslog is retained by Ciscoworks? We have a requirement to keep logs for 1 year, but only seem to have 2 months. The server has over 60 GB of free space, so there must be a config setting somewhere?

Thanks

Hi Dave,

What did you upgrade *from*? Did you do the 2.5 -->2.5.1-->2.6 upgrade? Also, when you did the upgrade, did you do a data migration in accordance with:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/rtrmgmt/cw2000/cw2000e/e_4_x/rme405/rme405ig/igs/upgmig.htm

?

If not, then yes, definitely this would explain the lack of syslog messages from the time prior to the upgrade.

Hi.

Check

RME-->Administration-->Syslog-->Set Purge Policy

HTH,

Joseph,

The purge was set correctly for 365 days. Any ideas on how to determine why we only have 2 months. We did upgrade to 2.6 a couple months ago, would that purge all syslog?

Joe,

Did not do a data migration, so I think that solves the mystery.

Thanks for your help.

Dave

...anytime. :-)
