Disabling Load Balance on GLBP to act as HSRP

Can I setup GLBP to act as HSRP so that later I can take advantage of load balancing?

Per

I am assuming I can use:

glbp 1 priority 150

glbp 1 preempt

glbp 1 load-balancing host-dependent

glbp 1 weighting 254 lower 1 upper 254

You probably want to change load-bal to weighted, and set weight to 254 on one and 1 on the other, removing the tracking options.

Better still if you want HSRP behaviour, use HSRP!

What you're trying, I believe, will still allow some traffic onto the other gateway. If you really want to not load balance, you would be better using HSRP (as Paul suggests) or VRRP.

Assuming, that some leakage is acceptable, and you want to do load balancing later on, using GLBP as you describe would be better so that the virtual MACs need not change.
