Hi,i have a question in my mind say the i have 3 vlan with different subnet say....vlan 2 -192.168.1.1 /24
vlan 3 - 172.16.1.1 /24
routing will takes places through cisco4506 L3 switch,
but what about the default route to my 2811 cisco route.the fa0/1 ip add -192.168.1.254/24
do i have to make any changes in the 2811 router? do i have to create a secondary subnet in my 2811 with 172.16.1.0/24 subnet...

Hi
There is no point in using secondary addressing on the 2811. As long as you have enabled ip routing on your 4506 then you should be able to route between the 2 vlans.
One thing though. if you have clients in vlan 2 you would want to make their default gateway the vlan 2 interface on your 4506 and not the 2811 fa0/1 address otherwise to route between the 2 vlans you are having to go to the 2811 and back which makes no sense.
