How to check out which IOS swtich got

I have been given a access to two 4006 switches and been informed that out of which one contains a Cat IOS and other switch contains IOS, with the user mode access, how do I make out which switch has CAT IOS,

can any one help me on this

Hi Shashi,


If you see a prompt like "Console> (enable)" then it is running CATOS and if you see a regular enable prompt "Switch# " then it is IOS.

From user mode, you can determine the IOS version by running the "show ver" command.


If you're still not sure from the output of the command, post the output here and we'll let you know!
