Health Check of a Switch

To check whether a switch is healthy and all is ok what should I be looking for in addition to the following?

show logs

show proc cpu

show proc mem

show env all

What else should I be looking for?

Hi Friend,

Which switch is this? If thee are the modular switches then you can also issue a command "sh mod" to check the modules status and "sh test" to give you port and line cards status.

One additional command I use is the show version command. This command tells me whether the switch was last rebooted by a loss of power or if it was rebooted by a software crash or a hardware failure.

These are good basic commands to use but it is always important to have the latest stable release of IOS installed on your switch.
