Hi,
Would you please help me on this: what is the difference between 7609 and 7609-s chassis? I could find only this info:
***
As part of the Cisco 7600 Series, the Cisco 7609-S Router is an enhancement on the highly successful 9-slot chassis (Cisco 7609). This enhanced chassis delivers numerous design improvements, including:
? Improved failover mechanisms in the hardware which when paired with the proper IOS software image, can achieve 100 ms failover
? Ability to deliver higher power of up to 750W per slot
? Redundant High-speed fan tray module with 5 speeds on a front-to-back airflow design.
? Better thermal flow measurement and management
***
Still, there are bundles with 7609 that are not available with 7609s.
Why would I choose 7609s instead of 7609?
Are there any cooling or other issues with 7609 that I should know about?
Are more line cards supported in 7609s then in 7609?
Thanks in advance,
Mladen

The likely primary advantage of going with a "S" chassis is whatever new features that Cisco has plans for it.
