I recently upgraded my internal Unity 4.0(4) / Exchange UM to version 5.0(1). I found that the tasks prior to the upgrade can be somewhat time consuming due to the little curveballs that tend to come up (ask me about trying to get around a DC with a CD-rom drive only, no DVD drive!).
As I get ready to perform this upgrade for customers, I'd like to get an early start on such tasks as extending the schema for Exchange 2007, installing the EX07 administrative tool, installing the crystal reports engine, updating SQL or MSDE service pack, and the like.
So here is my question. are any of the tasks likely to break existing Unity operation for the one or two days that the old unity server may stay running?Does anyone have any advice to watch out for gotchas on any of the tasks for upgrading from 4.x to 5.x?
Thanks, and good luck to all!
