Hi,
Will be perfoming an urgent IOS upgrade on a Cat 6513, from 12.1(19)E1 > 12.2.18SXD4.
Is it nessassry to upgrade the catOS on Sup2 too?
The current CatOS is 8.1(3).
Can the kind folks here point me the right direction. whitepapers?

Hi Friend,
No if you are upgrading IOS on MSFC you are not required to upgrade CATOS on sup engine but make sure the line cards which you are planning to install are supported in that CATOS image.

Hi Ankur,
Thank for the feedback.
No new line cards to be installed. Therefore i believe no CatOS upgrade is required to support the new image.

I would make sure you have adequate DRAM for that as 12.2.18 is considerably larger than the version you are currently running .
