Hi Everybody,

I am using VMPS in my LAN for security.

Can any one let me know if the VMPS has End of Life ?

Hi Friend,

AFAIK technology is never end of life or support till the time the product on which you are using has a valid support and not end of life or support.

Hi Gopinath,

The VMPS feature is no longer supported in 12.2SX code.

The alternative as I see it would be to enable 802.1x authentication on the switch and authenticate users or machines against a RADIUS server. From there, you can perform vlan ssignment.

Hi,

My understanding from your reply is 12.2SX and later ios will not support vmps.

QUERY:- Can cisco give tech-support if I continuing the VMPS with lower version on the Switch?
