I have two 877 routers and I am trying to create a failover and load balancing scenario. They are connected through a HP procurve 1800/24 switch. When I am getting a lot of errors on the standby routers to do with not being able to find the virtual interface with the IP of the active router.
Any help would be gratefully recieved.
Please find example of config bellow

Sorry I feel I should clarify the problem appears to be that when traffic is sent to the main router it is fine but then no traffic can go to the interface and you cannot ping the interface. I think this is when it is forwarding to the secondary.

There is an opened HSRP bug which is affected the cisco 800 platforms: CSCsb98540 HSRP not listening to virtual mac-address on vlan interface. It seems that the router does not transmit the packets from L2 to L3. As a possible workaround, can you try to configure 'standby use-bia' on the routers?
