CCME, ATA and Faxing

Hi,

I have Cisco Call Manager running on a 2800 series router and have a Cisco ATA-186 (SCCP firmware) that I wish to use for a couple of faxes. I've tried adding the following lines to my configuration however whilst a fax answers an incoming call it does not seem to be able to negotiate with the sending fax & obviously fails. I cannot send outgoing faxes at all. Config lines:-

ephone-dn 24 dual-line

number 2214

description fax1

call-forward busy 600

call-forward noan 600 timeout 15

ephone 24

mac address xxxx.xxxx.xxxx

type ata

button 1:24

The ATA is also configured Audio Mode 0x00150015

Any one any ideas?

I think you must configure the fax relay or something like this.

ATA is capable to work only with fax passthrough. As I remeber previously using CME ATAs for fax transmission was only able in H.323 mode. So you have to change load on your ATA to H.323 and try this way.
