Unity 5 with Exchange not working

We're putting in Unity 5.0(1) with Unified Messaging with MS Exchange 2003 for the first time. We're getting the following error in the event log every couple of minutes.

Source: CiscoUnity_MALEx

Event ID: 30003

An attempt to access the Primary Exchange Mailbox Store by CsBMsgConnector via MAPI has failed. The MAPI subsystem return the following error: The information store could not be opened..

Anybody know how to fix this?

Our test messages are pilling up in the UnityMTA folder. Our Exchange is up. We can pull AD accounts into Unity as subscribers. We can't push into voice mails into Exchange. We can't retrieve voice mails that are stuck in the Unity MTA folder either.

i have found that most unity issues are permissions related. run the unity permissions wizard again, make sure the unity accounts are delegated control of exchange properly, and make sure that the hidden unity account "UNITY_(servername) is not disabled.

You are correct. It was a permissions issue. Apparently, we needed to delegate Exchange Full Administrator rights to the installation account. We only had Exchange Administrator rights and that was not sufficient. Things work fine now.
