Removing Static switchport security

Hi All,

Seeking your help on how to remove a manually configured switchport security.

No clue given on the IOS help on this, i am running 2950 series.

The three commands known are only for dynamic entries i.e

# clear mac address-table dynamic

#clear mac address-table dynamic address aaaa.bbbb.cccc (mac-add)

#clear mac address-table dynamic int fa0/7 or the vlan number

Hence all these commands could not help me in removing the no longer wanted static entry.

Please help me with the command to accomplish this removal.

Kind Regards

Hi,

please try the following at the interface level:

int e0/1 (example)

no switchport port-security

Hi,

Thanks a "terabyte" friend, it was successfully removed but the entry still shows up on #sh port-security address, while disabled on #sh port-security int fa0/7 as wanted.

Any idea to further remove it from the #show port-security address entry?

Most grateful mate.

Hi,

The Switch might still stores the inactive mac entry at its MAC-table.

u can modify the timing for a Switch to store any (inactive mac address entry) by configuring:

(mac-address-table aging time xsec) where x is the number of seconds that a Switch can store any (inactive mac address entry).
