IP Phone firmware upgrade..

I have upgraded the cisco 7940/7960 IP phone firmware (using the file cmterm-7940-7960-sccp.8-0-7.exe) on the CCM, however when I checked the firware version on the IP phone its displaying the following..

App Load ID:

P0030301MFG2

Boot Load ID:

PC0303010200

Version:

3.1(MF.G2)

What does this mean.... has the phone firmware got upgraded or not??

can someone give ur inputs..

(Note: I'm trying the upgrade the IP phone firmware of 7940G IP phone on CCM with version 4.2.1)

You can't go straight from 3.1 to 8.0 FW. You need to apply progressive upgrades as indicated the in FW release notes. I don't have the minimal sequence information but others should be able to to help :)

Also I believe that with CM 4.2.1 there is a recommend FW version you should use, again, not sure which one, sorry!

Hi rv,

Can you plz tell me how much time did it take to upgrade the firmware? I am upgrading 7941 from 8.2.2 to 8.3.3 and it is stuck at one place for last 12 hours.
