Is there an SNMP trap to watch for Spanning Tree / Hostflapping issues?

Or can anyone give any proactive advice on the matter?

Thanks.

couple of snmp traps for STP

snmp-server enable traps bridge newroot topologychange

snmp-server enable traps stpx inconsistency root-inconsistency loop-inconsistency

Hello Mike,

one of the commands you could use is 'snmp-server enable traps' followed by these options:

bridge [newroot] [topologychange]

(Optional) Generate STP bridge MIB traps. The keywords have these meanings:

?newroot?(Optional) Enable SNMP STP Bridge MIB new root traps.

?topologychange?(Optional) Enable SNMP STP Bridge MIB topology change traps.

Regards,

GP
