Changing inactive Timeout on CSS

Hello,

Can the inactive timeout be changed on a content switch running v8.10.2.05 without impacting current sessions, or will I be required to suspend the content rule to prevent disruption and/or required for the change to take effect?

Thanks

Pradeep

Pradeep,

you can change it without suspending the content rule.

CSS11503-2(config-owner-content[gdufour-WWW])# sticky-inact-timeout 6

CSS11503-2(config-owner-content[gdufour-WWW])# acti

%% Content rule is already active

CSS11503-2(config-owner-content[gdufour-WWW])# sticky-inact-timeout 8

CSS11503-2(config-owner-content[gdufour-WWW])#

Be aware that the timeout will only be applied to new entries. So existing entries will timeout with the current idle timeout.

Gilles.

the only way to change the idle timeout is the command 'flow-timeout-multiplier ' which does require you to suspend the content rule.

CSS11503-2(config-owner-content[gdufour-WWW])# flow-timeout-multiplier 4

%% Attribute may not be modified on active rule

CSS11503-2(config-owner-content[gdufour-WWW])#

Giles,

Sorry, I wasn't clear, but I am talking about the sticky timeout - "sticky-inact-timeout x"

I have it as follows:

content Agents-Prod

vip address x.x.x.x

protocol tcp

port 80

balance weightedrr

add service Agents1-Prod

add service Agents2-Prod

add service Agents3-Prod

primarySorryServer Agents-ProdSorry

redundant-index 64

advanced-balance sticky-srcip

sticky-inact-timeout 6

active

Thanks,

Pradeep
