Using SIP Phones with CallManager 4.2??

Hello guys I was told that I could not do this but cannot take no until I ask.

We have CallManager 4.2 with 7940's and 7960's phones.

Question: We like the 7931G which is a SIP phone. Can we install it in our current CallManager with an upgrade?

Will it be to difficult of a project? or a very simple task?

PLEASE ADVISE

Hello,

the 7931G is not a SIP phone. To the contrary, it is only an SCCP phone, and there is no planned SIP firmware for it.

This said, you cannot use the 7931G with CCM 4.2.

Only CCM 6.0 supports the 7931G, and there is no patch or planned plans by cisco to support the 7931 in other CM releases.
