I am trying to make a static arp entry on a context on a cisco ACE.
However i get
"% invalid parameter detected at '^' marker."
The command i am using is "arp 172.30.6.4 02.bg.ac.1e.06.04"
The ^ is located at start of the mac address entry.
What could be wrong ? Is this a bug ?

bg is not a valid hex value only letters from a to f are correct.

Now i want to replace the address with 03.bf.ac.1e.06.04.
Again i get some error, this mac address is not accepted ?
ACE-acc-01/CONTEXT1(config)# arp 172.30.6.4 03.bf.ac.1e.06.04
Error: Invalid MAC address

the 03 indicates this is a multicast mac addresss. [everything with the first bit set in the first bytes is multicast].
The ACE module currently does not support those type of mac addresseses.
Gilles.
