We have a 3750E switch that is routing back to our distribution. They wanted to add a printer but still use an existing printer vlan on that switch. How can I use that campus vlan over a layer 3 boundary?

can you clarify what they want ? Where is the printer supposed to go and where is the printer vlan located .What kind of routing gear is in the distribution ?

Ultimately, they don't want to have to ReIP the printers. They would like to use the same vlan and IP scheme across the campus. We have a 3750E connecting at L3 to dual 6509's (IOS). This is one of serveral L3 switches and would like to keep our existing printer vlan 212 and IP's consistent across the campus.

What you could do if they aren't already is to trunk to the 3750's and then the vlan could added across the network. I don't know how the links are now but that is an option.
